thoughts on Renault Espaces
Options
i'm about to change job and need to hand my company car back and go back into the second hand market. looking at autotrader second hand Renault espaces (diesel) with about 70k on the clock go for about £3k. i was quite surprised that diesels with so few miles on are that cheap. but then i started reading some of the reviews and it would appear that they have a bit of a reliability issue and they arent very economical. so has anyone had one and what were your thoughts. i'm only going to be doing about 10k miles a year and wont be using it to commute.

Got to be so many better options than Renault espaces .0

They're cheap because they're not that desirable. They have a tendency to electrical issues, general unreliability (turbos, EGRs and injectors), they're not very well built, and they're usually given quite a lot of hammer by large families with many children meaning they're comprehensively ruined inside by five years old.
10K a year, buy a petrol something or other.0 -
If you need something that size then decent enough and reasonable price.
Slow, expensive to tax and run and at best average to drive however that goes for most of its competitors also.

What size engine? A colleague has a Grand Scenic (which isn't too far removed from an Espace) and (I think) it has a 1.5 turbo diesel engine ... gutless is an understatement, and fuel economy is far worse than my 2 litre 140ps Golf!0

Go for petrol. Yes diesels are cheaper on the fuel, generally. But if they go wrong, boy will it cost!0

On my second C-Max, love them. I have a diesel, but you will be better off with a petrol model. Ignore the Postcode, it's part of an old address of mine.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
