Saving on the cost of scrapping a timber shed

Hi all.
I would like to scrap my old timber shed. It's tanalised timber about 8'x6' in overall reasonable condition, with a metal roof.
Rather than pay someone to take it away, I wondered if it was worth advertising it for a nominal sum (say, £1) on Ebay or putting it on freecycle offering it free to anyone willing to take it away, to use for their own projects etc.
Has anyone had success with this kind of thing?

In my experience people will take most things on freecycle - and very quickly
I would go freecycle rather than ebay as it is local.0 -
Do you know anyone with a wood burner?0

Unfortunately the wood is tanalised, so isn't suitable for home burning - otherwise I'd have free fuel for about five years!:rotfl:'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0 -
Yeh freecycle.
If you have allotments nearby see if they have a website or a contact number and im sure someone there would be happy to take it.0 -
GUMTREE's free, local and you can put your ad in "Freebies"0

Lots of people will take them down for you for free, people are always looking for sheds for allotments. Just advertise it on local facebook pages0

Another vote for Freecycle. I bet you'll have people snapping you hand off for it. Either that, or a local community Facebook page, if you have one - just post it as "free to anyone that can collect". Shame you weren't a couple of months earlier - I bet there would have been any number of scout groups, round table, any sort of local "group" that would have been glad of wood for a bonfire0

If it's still in reasonable condition, you could contact local Scout or Guide groups to see if they are interested, either for themselves or for a local campsite. Otherwise, Freecycle.0
