in Credit cards
So,
Martin went on GMB in January and told us all to transfer our cards to a 0% interest card. I, obediently, went on a checker thing and found a card with Tescos that was 90% certain I would get. Great (I thought), but not really...they declined me!! They said they didn't think I could afford more credit! I don't want MORE, I want cheaper! Anyhow, brief background - I work part time earning £12,000 pa as my husband works the main job in our household earning about £85k pa. They said they take ALL our mortgage into consideration but not my husbands earnings (seems a bit silly as its a joint mortgage!) So, I thought I would see what else is out there and did an eligibility check with MBNA. They said I couldn't get their 43 month 0% deal but could apply for another card that had 18 months interest free. I have about £2,300 I want to transfer so I worked out over 18 months it would cost about £130 a month! Great - we can easily afford that! I haven't applied yet as I just want to check if I will defo get it?! Will they decline to give it to me because Tescos declined me?? Is it not worth applying or is the fact that they told me in the eligibility check to apply mean I will get it! Don't want too many applications on my credit history but also want to get rid of my interest and pay off my cards!!
Any help/advice gratefully received!
Thank you. xo

They will have different acceptance criteria. They won't see Tesco's decision.
Remember that a new card IS extra credit, until you close something down.0
