Very poor Credit Score

Hi all
So good news is that this time next week I will have paid off all my debts!
Bad news is that I got my credit file and my score is very very poor (less than 200)
I have 2 defaults and one delinquent on my file....I know that these balances will all go to 0 and be marked settled when I have paid off all my debt (next week) I also know that it could take 4-6 weeks to appear on my file and that these defaults will be on my file for 6 years.
My question is...how can I begin to repair my credit rating?
My credit rating is so poor i cannot get a credit card in order to help re build my rating...I live with my boyfriend and pay him my rent - he is in charge of all utility accounts etc and my phone and gym membership dont count towards my score so realistically I have no regular payments which would look good on my file?
Help please
Thanks

Good news. Your score means nothing.
Wait until the accounts show as settled and about 3 months after apply for a "starter credit card" (Cap1/Aqua/Vanquis) you should then be accepted.
You will probably only be given a very small limit. Use no more than 1/3 of your limit. (Maybe a weekly shop or a tank of petrol) and pay off in full each month.
After a year or so you should be able to get a better credit card with a higher limit. Provided all payments have been made.0
