Help with parking fine

Hello,
I have recieved a parking court charge from a company called civil enforment this morning. Saying I owe £300 which includes court charge of £25 and my defence which is £50?
My girlfriend has had exactly the same thing recently too. We havnt replied to any yet and would like some advice on what to do.
The place we parked was outside a bar were we work which is behind the build right against the back entrance which belongs to the bar.
Any advice on how I should go about avoiding paying for these charges would be great!

as these are official court claims (they are from Northampton arent they ?) you need to defend them, so please read the COURT CLAIM section in the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this forum
then read other RECENT similar court claim threads and the advice given and look at their defences in order to make your own
remember , you have 14 days from the date of service on the form , or a further 14 days (making 28 days in total) once you have acknowledged it online within the first 14 days , to draft and submit your defence(s)
please do as I said then come back if you have further questions
time is of the essence here , plus you have a lot to learn in a short time
ps:- these are not "fines" , they started off as parking charge notices , or PCN0 -
Thanks for your quick response. Yes they came from a company called zzzzsp or something and when I Google the company everyone said they were scams. So didn't act on it.
Would it be to late to have the bar tell them I was working their? Because all the staff are recieving these letters.
Yes that's correct it came from Nottingham.0 -
ZZPS is just the debt collectors , if these are from Northampton Court then they are official CEL court claims and ZZPS have nothing to do with them any more
so if these are court claims from Northampton (not Nottingham and not any other city beginning with an N either) ), then its too late to appeal or try to stop them being enforced
you need to defend these court claims or you will lose by default, if you fail to pay (if you lost) then a CCJ will be issued after 28 days after the court hearing and your credit rating etc will be trashed
defend them , or face the consequences , these are real life small claims court claims
now please do as I said in my first reply, read the NEWBIES sticky thread, court sub-section , then read other similar threads as well0 -
excuse my ignorance but how do i click on newbies section0

go to the top of this forum , find the 4 or so sticky threads that are "stuck" there *like post it`s) and click on the thread (not section) with NEWBIES in the title0

I hope you have now read the NEWBIES FAQS section headed 'Small Claim?' and seen some examples of defences. You need to tell your colleagues to come here too. It is not as hard as it looks because for CEL the defences recently have been mostly standard arguments.
And search the forum board for 'CEL defence Legal Team' to read recent strong defences to copy from and adapt to suit. A registered keeper cannot be held liable by CEL so DO NOT write about the defendant being the DRIVER!
We have NEVER lost a CEL defence because they've always discontinued. Even if you lose, (I'd eat my hat) you would pay about £175 - £190, not the sum demanded now, and there would be no CCJ. As we've never lost one, you should take confidence and treat all this as a life experience and trust us to help!
What date is on both of your court papers from Northampton? And are they ended 'Legal Team' or do they have a name at the bottom left?
Once you have read the NEWBIES section links and know what to do first, come back and tell us once the recipients (the named defendants) have done the AOS and that you've both extended your defence deadlines to 28 days from the court papers.
And then the next step during Jan/early Feb (depends on your court papers date(s) will be to show us your draft defence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
