Pre-approved offers

I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar problem with a credit card pre-approved offer?
After selecting the offer through the MSE Credit Club I was redirected to the providers website. Here I received confirmation that I had been pre-approved so I provided the details requested and submitted .
To my surprise a pop-up then appeared saying there was no record of the pre-approval but offering the same card subject to a full credit check.
I checked this through another site with the same provider and the same message appeared.

    Hi MsKSneeze,

Although you've been pre-approved for a card, this doesn't necissariliy mean you'll be accepted. The pre-approved is issued based on the information you enter in the club and if, when you apply, the information entered is different, then you could still be declined as the provider will still need to do further checks which usually includes a full credit check before confirming whether you've been pre-approved.

I hope that makes sense but let me know if you need any further clarification.
