I moved house recently. I have changed my address with the DVLA. When (or if) Gladstone Solicitors send out their case pack documents to the court and me, will they know my new address? The address they have on file is my old address. I dont have access to my old address mail anymore. Is it expected for them to get my address off the DVLA (which will be my new address), or do I have a duty to let them know my new address?0

they definitely cannot get the details from the DVLA , so unless YOU inform them of the new address for service , they wont know AND the docs will continue to go to the old address
most people WOULD have paid for mail redirection, in order to stop post inadvertently being delivered to the old address
so guess whose job it is to do what you have asked ?0 -
Hi all
i have recently received the same letter saying I own £150 for a parking ticket from last year. ( Gladstone Solicitors) please ignore my lack of knowledge and advise an appropriate way to take and why ?
it will be very much appreciated.
my car was parked may be 20% over the designated line and the flats i parked were still under construction. so all the bays were not even fully completed.
thank you all in advance0 -

You really need to do 2 things. First read the Newbies thread. It's the one containing the FAQ s and has a section on defending court claims.
Secondly start a new thread of your own. Advising several people in one thread causes confusion.0 -
Update on the case:
I mailed my WS and docs to both the court and Gladstone making sure it reaches them 14 days before the court date. The 14 day point has now passed, and I havent received anything from Gladstones. I checked with them to make sure they have my right address and they did, so they cant have sent it to my old address. I thought it was a necessary requirement to mail the docs and WS 14 days before to all parties?0 -
It is, but judges may not see this as a reason for an automatic strike out of the claim.
By all means raise a complaint with the court that the claimant hasn't abided by the court's instructions, but don't expect it to give you a default win. (You can try to use this as evidence of unreasonable conduct if/when you win as a means to get enhanced costs).0
