Dud CD Player

I purchased a Micro CD System 14 months ago (November 2015) and it's gone dead. I bought through Amazon via another Company but they are saying that as the 12 month guarantee has expired they are not prepared to replace, repair or refund my monies. I thought or I may be wrong that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 covered all this. If this is correct, then what is the point in having this act to protect customers when it's unenforceable and traders/Companies turn a blind eye and try to fob you off.
Any advice would be grateful. Thanks.

  • You'll need to get an independent report stating it has failed due to an inherent fault.

As above, you need to get a report that states its the fault is basically not due to misuse or accidental damage

So why not read the act and find out which parts cover the issue you're having and then use that information to decide on your next steps?
  • You need to prove it is not dead because of something you may have done to it, you cannot simply expect companies to refund or replace just based on your word.
  • Traders will try to fob you off because they think they can, so learn your rights, be empowered and show them that you know what you are entitled to and that you won't be fobbed off.
