So as per the rules it says the links will be removed when reported. So as I beleive in a democratic forum i won't remove the link myself but await to see if people think my infraction is unacceptable enough to be reported.
You didn't need to wait for any democracy as the MSE Forum team have removed your cheeky link that was in breach of the forum rules.

So I think my stretching of the rules fits in well on this forum ;)
You might be alone with that opinion.

Well it was democratic because someone obviously objected to it and reported it then it was removed by the forum team, which is exactly what the rule stated. Show me the rule that says I wasn't allowed to post the link in the first place, all it said was that it would be removed and not that I shouldn't post it!.

Personally my stretching of the rules was similar to using Tesco Direct Debits to get interest and switching bonuses. Everyone knows that Tesco obviously don't intent for their accounts to be used in that way and that current accounts specify direct debits because they want it to be used by people as a main account. But people on here (including me) happily exploit them to get the money.
So how is what I have done different?

Sigh... There's no comparison to the Tesco example.

MSE Forum has rules. You are supposed to abide by them - and posting direct links to your own referral is one of the things you should not do. The wording, that such posts will be removed, is unambiguously saying that doing so is against the rules. You can wriggle and say it doesn't actually say you can't post, but you cannot deny the clear intent is that you shouldn't post such things.

Tesco, on the other hand, afaik, have no rules, guidance or indeed any pronouncement at all, on the number of DDs you should have.

That's all from me on this topic - this thread has been off-topic (admittedly arguably my fault for mentioning RAF in the first place, apologies for that) for too long and I doubt you'll take any notice of the point I'm making anyway..

Obviously the I understand the clear intent of the rule. Just like the clear intent of needing Direct Debits and Minimum pay ins on accounts is so that you use them as your main account. So it's exactly the same type of situation!.

Plus if MSE were so against links to the refferals forum being posted on here then why don't they add it to the banned words list so that it automatically stops it being posted?.

You seem to be very upset that I have "broken" the rules, you need to lighten up abit and have some fun if little things like this really concern you!.
