Which is likely to be cheapest, or is it largely guesswork?
Flipper will automatically put you on the cheapest tariff, but they charge a fee, obviously you cannot predict the future cost.
Powershop give you a discout for pre-paying, it does seem to be pretty cheap but not compared vs all suppliers.
Any ideas?

Avoid both and do your own searches through Price Comparison sites.
You have to give Flipper all the information that a price comparison site would ask for so why pay them? They cannot do any better than you can do yourself.0 -

Do your own comparisons. I have yet to see anyone from these sites state what criteria they use to assess savings. If it is the Ofgem methodology that is being used, then it is possible that you could be switched to a more expensive tariff on the basis that it will save you money. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
