On JSA and had a letter about a Benefit Claim Review - anyone had one?

Hi everyone,
I started claiming JSA at the end of October last year after my contract ended. In December I was accepted onto the New Enterprise Allowance Scheme so I'm working towards starting my own business, but as per the rules of the scheme I'm still claiming JSA until I start trading. It's on my records that I'll be moving off JSA and onto the NEAS in the next couple of months at the latest.
I've just had a letter asking me to go to a benefit claim review meeting at the end of the month, where I have to take copies of my bank statements, my pension statement and my most recent wage slips. Is this normal, and if so, what is it for? I've googled and it seems the job centre ask all claimants in for a meeting once they've been on JSA for 13 weeks, to ensure they're doing all they can to find work. The timing of that fits for me but I find it a bit weird that they want to see my financial info but not details of my job searching and/or business plan. Is there anyone who's had one of these meetings and can shed a bit of light on it, please?

If they have asked for financial information then this is likely to be a check that you are entitled to the JSA rather than anything about job seeking etc.
People get called in for various reasons - straightforward check that you are getting everything you are entitled to, check that your financial information is the same as when you applied etc etc
Just take what they are asking for and go from there. Or you could just ring and ask them........0 -
Thanks pmlindyloo,
I'd already asked my job coach but she didn't know, hence asking on here. I tend to get very anxious with official meetings so I just wanted to get some info in advance.
For the benefit of anyone who does a site search for compliance meetings further down the line, it was just a meeting to check which benefits I'm currently receiving. I took my driving licence for ID, bank statements, pension info, wage slips from my last job etc, but the only thing she wanted to look at was my ID to prove who I was! I was in and out in less than ten minutes. I'm signing off next week anyway, so it was all a bit of pointless red tape!0 -
