Flights question

HI there
I am looking at going to Kuala Lumpur next summer to see my brother and was wondering if there are any airlines that take deposits for flights instead of the whole balance at once??
I have been searching around and prices come in at the £600 mark, which is 2.5K for 4 of us! We havent got all the money together to pay for them now but dont want to lose out on booking good flights by leaving it till nearer the time.

Can anyone help???

Thanks!!

Li

  • usually if your just booking flights on a schedueld airline you have to pay the whole price, but £600 each i payed less than that for a holidays to kl and penang for 2 weeks with flight and hotel keep looking ;).

    Try travelmood.com airline-network.co.uk

    good luck:rotfl:
  • Thanks for that!
Your holiday sounds good value! Will have to do some more digging, as we dont need accomodation, but I wouldnt mind stopping off at Singapore for a few nights on the way but I think just Singapore Airlines stop there .
We are looking going for 3 wks , cant wait!

    Thanks again

  • Where would you fly from? If you don't mind me asking ... cos sometimes if you're willing to travel a wee bit then the varying airport prices can make it really worthwhile!
    £10 a day in November = £593.31 / £300
  • Hi there
We would fly from anywhere really in the uk, we live in the north east, so manchester preferably but willing to fly from london etc if the flights were good.
    Thanks

Speak to a Tour Operator who deals with Emirates, and ask them to book an IT Fare with the minimum level of accommodation required (probably 3 nights), and probably in Kuala Lumpur and accommodation is very cheap there, unless you fancy a stopover in Dubai. I'd suggest Travelbag / Travelmood or the like.

You will probably get something around £600 per person (inc taxes & accom) and you only need to pay a deposit, balance 8-12 weeks before departure.

When we went to KL we booked with Dial a Flight, but because we included some accommodation (about 4 nights,I think) it became an "inclusive tour" rather than "flight only" and therefore we were able to pay just a deposit and the rest about 10 weeks before travel. They were the best value for Malaysia Airlines even though I was working as a travel agent at the time and could get staff discount with a couple of other flight consolidators.

Thanks so much for that info!
Never thought about doing it that way, and we wouldnt mind a stopover in Dubai for a few days!
I will have a look at the websites and see what can be done, we are going for 3 wks so 3-4 nights on route will be fine and agreat break on route for the kids!
