Switching supplier with prepayment meter

Hello,


Am asking this for a friend- they are currently on British standard rate for their electricity as their deal came to an end last month. She has an electric prepayment meter which she tops up via a card at the shop.


She has asked me to help her switch supplier to get a better deal (she is not very tech savvy). She would like to come off the meter if it means a better deal.


How would I go about doing a comparison on sites with USwitch, Gocompare etc?


Also does she need to get the meter removed with her current supplier first then switch? Thanks

Changing the meter will open up many more, and better deals

You can ask the current supplier to change the meter first, or the new supplier once you've switched.

You can compare in the same way you do for any other meter - you just need to chose Prepayment meter instead of DD or quarterly bill.

You can't switch and change the meter in one go.
