Letter from Consumer Claims

I've received a letter from a company called Consumer Claims, with an address in Guernsey. They're telling me I may be able to claim some money back from HSBC for PPI if I sign a letter of authority. There is no mention of potential charges by them, just that there is no cost to me if they don't find anything. I'm inclined to ignore this - I'm pretty confident that I've never had PPI with HSBC and I think they're fishing for business. Has anyone else had experience of this firm? Is it genuine/worth doing?

I recommend avoiding any claims company. It's easy to do it yourself. And it's free.'Every great fortune begins with a crime' - Honore de Balzac0
