CPS charge notice - appeal

Options
Hi all - I parked in a carpark last night, late at night, that turned out to be permit parking or for customers at a certain shop. I parked late at night and didn't notice any signs, due to no lighting in the car park. I came back to my car at 845 to a parking notice, as I was parked in a 'customer parking' bay. I have a few reasons to grumble and I'm hoping some give me grounds for a successful appeal (as I'm a full time student nurse, so have incredibly little income!):

- Firstly, it was a genuine mistake, I hadn't realised or I wouldn't have parked there
- It was customer parking, for a shop that doesn't open until 9, so I wasn't exactly getting in anybody's way....
- The registration number on the parking notice is complete illegible, you can read 2 of the digits only
- There were 4 cars parked in the same stretch of private land as me that didn't have permits, not one of them had a parking ticket, just me. Seems a little unfair!!

It seems incredibly excessive to ask someone to pay £60 (in 14 days, £100 after that) given then above.
Also, I assume that if I start the appeals process and I'm unsuccessful then I'll have to pay the full £100?

Any thoughts/help much appreciated.

Thank

you dont have to pay a penny unless a judge says you do

please read the IPC sections of the NEWBIES sticky thread, its written so that people can learn about this process, and these charges are pretty standard and have been since at least 2012 when POFA2012 came in (if not before)

UK CPS will definitely turn down your appeal, its rare for any parking company to uphols an appeal , then its 6 years of hassle

the other cars could have been "bait" , to lure you in

No, you don't have to pay till a Judge tells you to, if UKCPS tried one of their fairly rare small claims.

But this is already all covered in the NEWBIES FAQS thread - a sticky thread at the top where you hit 'new thread'.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
