Hi
I have got my son a PS4 slim and a wireless headset that has an optical lead. When trying to set it up I have found out that there is no optical port.
Is there any type of adapter I can buy to remedy it? The headphones aren't mega expensive ones but I don't really want to get another set if I can help it.
Thanks in advance.
Ps I know nothing about consoles so be gentle
These are the headphones, i could possible have got better for the same price but I was in argos

You could , But you would only get sound.
The mic function wouldnt work0 -
Can you return them? I know it's hassle but the beauty of the ps4 controller is that you can plug a headset straight into it, so wired ones are not like the PS3 days where you had a load of cables from the TVs & console.
Another advantage is that you don't need to charge most of the headsets that plug into the controller so no worrying about them going flat in the middle of a game.0 -
The questions on Argos say that it can be used via USB to PC, as well as 3.5mm jack to a phone so:
1) plug into the PS4 with USB
2) plug into the controller via 3.5mm audio lead
3) return to argos and get him to save up for the official headset which is brilliant. (About £60-70 in Amazon/Argos or £48 from CEX)
Either one of those will work (I think, I use the official ones so not sure but don't see why it wouldn't). Think the easiest thing to do is 20 -
The PS4 these days supports USB sound cards, so you don't actually have to use the optical lead.
You just need to plug the transmitter in to the PS4 via USB and tweek the settings a bit.0
