DVLA clamp

Options
A car parked outside my house has been clamped by DVLA for I assume unpaid road tax. I believe this car belongs to a couple four doors up.

The car has remained clamped since before Christmas. It doesn't look like the owners have any intent on paying the release fee and are now just using their other car.

Will this car remain clamped outside my house indefinitely. I know I do not have the right to park outside my property but it is very annoying that I am never getting the chance to do so.

If it is clamped for unpaid VED then it will have large stickers across the screen.

Report it to your local Police. Although I feel sure that the DVLA will eventually sort it: after they think it has accumulated a sufficiently high amount of revenue in daily charges, let's say...
I think this job really needs

I agree - I would have thought the DVLA will remove it after a certain period of time - if it is indeed the DVLA that have clamped it.

But if it's causing a nuisance it may be worth contacting the local council ( possibly a better bet than the police ). The local council will more than likely have a form on their website where you can just notify them online, quick and easy.

www.fixmystreet.com has proved effective for me on a couple of occasions recently. Your report goes directly to the LA and they will involve other agencies as necessary. It looks like a bit of a gimmick, but for me at least it seems to work as advertised.

I assume you mean VED. Why assume when you can check.https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax

They get lifted in three days after a clamping near me.
  • There are no stickers on the screen. The clamp says property of DVLA on it and checking the link from Norman Castle the car VED expired in August last year.

I just want to be able to park outside my house again. Its a pain parking half way down the street with a baby.
