Parkingeye:10min overstay in free carpark

Hi guys

I've appealed a few parking tickets in the past and ways won. But this time I've lost the actual parking ticket and am also confused about the new bpa rule about 10min grace- does it apply to free carparks where u don't get a ticket but they use an anpr to check ur in and out times.

I parked in a Lidl car park for 2hrs and 10mins, 43seconds. It's free upto 2hrs and £1.60 if u overstay.

Unfortunately I had 2 babies under 3 and it took us slightly longer to get out.

As it was 10min overstay - does the grace apply or do I take the usual appeals route?

With PE always follow the newbies FAQ thread (near the top of the forum) advice with the aim of getting a POPLA appeal

Both apply - send the usual appeal and you can add that a MINIMUM of ten mins (not a maximum) is in the BPA CoP, so very clearly a few more seconds was well within the BPA's reasonable contemplation and this PCN should not have been issued.

Don't imply who was driving in those added words. Choose 'registered keeper'.

Oh, and have you got this PCN within 14 days of the event? Does it have wording about 29 days and the POFA 2012?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'v lost the parking ticket so can't even check any details. Grrr

It was between Xmas and new years and the car park was manic getting out with ppl hitting saleso. Plus I had a baby and a toddler slowing me down. Hope it gets taken off. Can't afford a fine right now grrr

I wrote in to ask for a copy of the fine but haven't heard back

just use the blue text template appeal on their website , as keeper

dont faff around for now , just do as we say and as it says in the NEWBIES thread

and its an INVOICE , not a "fine , Parking Eye cannot "fine" anybody

also complain to LIDL online and insist on a cancellation , if you were in their shop

You will not get a copy.

Was it received in 14 days as far as you recall? Sounds unlikely...

Definitely was within 14days. I'll send an appeal with all details minus the reference number.

They replied within an hour of my request via email for a copy of the letter kept the request short 1 line request and simple without informing them of who the driver is etc . I now have the details I need to proceed with appeal. Thanks!
