Can I insure for holiday cancellation?

I have a family holiday booked in a few months time (night sleeper London to Scotland) leaving 9:15pm. Since booking one child family member is on a school trip to France arriving back 7pm that night.

It is possible the school trip could get delayed meaning we would have to cancel.

Can holiday insurance cover this eventuality? It is UK domestic holiday and 2 separately booked journeys. One impacts on the other for which I want to be protected. Cost of Scotland holiday is about £800.

thanks for any advice.

Read through the policy wording on cancellation due to delay in arriving at the departure point and see if it is covered.

If not couldn't one member of the party stay back and bring the child later?
