Nationwide Flex

I have had a NW flex direct account for the past 12 months paying 5% interest.. this has now lapsed so how can I re-aply for a new account to benefit from another year at 5%?
Do I have to close the account then re-open it and if so how long do I need to wait before doing so?
I can't get a direct answer from NW
Thanks

Last time I checked, you have to close the old Flexdirect account and wait 12 months to reapply for a new one in order to get 5%.

Are you using the 5% reg saver?
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • yes, and have just taken out a new flexclusive account so at least we'll get that :)

Which specific account have you taken out? And has this been done in an attempt to qualify for the reg saver?
  • the flexclusive regular saver one - had it last year but as with the flex direct it only pays 5% for 12 months....they sent me a letter saying I could open a new one...

So if you close your FlexDirect account, do you have another qualifying account which would ensure your continued eligibility for the regular saver? Or will you comply by some other way as detailed in the T&Cs?
  • yes, I will have to wait 12 months before opening another one...so I will keep it open

I don't think we're on the same page! Don't you have to close it, then wait 12 months before you can get 5% AER on a new one? That's my recollection of the T&Cs and, it appears, also that of the poster in post #2.
