Moving House Sky TV

Looking for advice please.
Have Sky TV and pay approx £115 per month for multi room (3 rooms) and done so for good few years now.
I'm moving house in 2 months and planned to simply phone up and get them to change over to new house. However asked general questions on this at local shopping centre where Sky reps had pop up stand and was told this was very easy to do and could book the change over almost now to date which suited.
He then advised £115 was rather high and had I considered fully cancelling my package with 30 days notice then simply get partner to enrol as a new customer for new home and get considerable discount (£55 per month) along with 3 brand new Sky Q boxes (initial set up approx £120) but equating to big savings over first 18 months.
Question I have - does this seem workable or instead should I say I'm moving and cancelling in hope they will give me discount (although mean we have 2 old boxes out of the 3)?
Anyone with previous recent scenarios would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

~Take advice from the Sky man, makes perfect sense and he will save you lots of Wonga,
And from now on, every time your contract is coming to an end, ring sky up and tell them that you are thinking about leaving and going to a rival, they will bend over backwards to keep you.
You have been spending an awful lot of money with them, dont forget, haggle every year or 18 month.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks.
I suppose my concern is my line rental is with BT and plan to simply get this moved to new home (probably keeping current number) and was wondering would Sky realise that this number was from customer who only cancelled 2-3 weeks ago and simply state this doesn't constitute a 'new customer'?0 -

To be certain, your partner can sign up instead of you. Your existing telephone number will not cause any alarm at Sky.0 -
That's great news.
Now to try and find some threads on best bundle deals for 'new customer' to Sky and if this new Sky Q is really worth getting or not0 -
Thanks.

Depending on what you pay and for which service you could consider switching the entire package to Sky, if you're paying full whack to Sky I'm guessing you're doing similar to BT?0 -
Plan to keep phone/broadband with BT Colin, had horrendous experience with Sky with shocking speeds which they did absolutely nothing to resolve but happily took high premiums.0

Worthwhile going to the cashback sites and putting your requirements in, to see what deal would cost you before going through sky direct. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0

Ahh, fair do's. If you are out of minimum term with BT however they don't know that you wont use Sky BB, might be useful if they try to charge you for the move or to get the price down little.0 -
Good idea Colin Maybe.
LOL. devious or what. I like your way of thinkingmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I became a "new customer" of Sky every time I moved house whilst in the military.0
