Balance Transfer

Options
I am wondering how it works when I have debt on my credit and want to do a balance transfer to a 0% credit card but I am a new mum and no longer working so when it asks about my annual income can I put my husbands salary down or do I just say £0 and I'm guessing this would leave me no chance of getting one?

Have a look at the criteria for each lender.

You can't just put your husband's as yours, but some may allow household income.

Alternatively, your husband could apply but this would mean taking on your debt.
  • It's hard to get credit in your name if you are a stay at home parent. When I was in this position I was an additional card holder for the card my wife had. MBNA would still talk to me on the phone and, with wife's prior consent, let me make decisions. We also had a joint account.
It's hard.....sometimes 'economically inactive' feels like 'Mr nobody'.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
