Wowcher Woes...

I've been using deals sites for years without any problems, so I suppose it had to happen some day!
I bought a massage/facial deal from Wowcher at the end of November and, since then, I have tried and failed to book an appointment for it - each time I've tried to book it I've included my deal code as requested but it was always refused.
After two months of this going on I gave up and decided to contact Wowcher for a refund - so you can imagine my surprise when I got a reply from them saying that I couldn't have a refund because the deal was marked as 'redeemed' by the merchant! I was advised to contact the merchant directly to see what they say but - as you've guessed it - I've had no response to either email or telephone.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and can offer any advice? I really can't afford to lose the money I spent on this and it's causing me more stress than I need right now.
Any and all help gratefully receitve - thanks in advance!
