What's it like to live in Hainault, Chigwell, Loughton etc?

Hi everyone,

Fingers crossed, we should be looking to buy a house this year. We'd be moving from Walthamstow.

For our budget (£450k), I'm looking at the following areas near these Central Line stations:
-Hainault
-Chigwell
-Loughton (I've read one should avoid the Debden end..whats it like??)
-Buckhurst Hill
-Theydon Bois
(we're not keen on going as far as Epping station)

Ideally, we'd like to be near the tube station (or say within a 20minute bus ride from the station).

I don't really know people in the area so wondering if you know what's it's like to live there and any preferred areas or areas to avoid, safety issues, community spirit. We will go out there to look around but would be most grateful for those who actually know the area to share your knowledge of the area.

We have two young kids (aged 3 & 8 -boy and girl) so we're interested in very good primary & secondary schools, friendly & welcoming community, stuff to do with the kids at weekends/ schools hols, family-friendly restaurants, nice local playgrounds/parks etc. We don't know any families in the area, would be nice to be able to make a few local friends as we wont always be able to sprint back to Walthamstow.

Thanks in advance for your responses.
