Every day in this country people send money off to Spain, Bulgaria or whereever because they have won lotteries that they haven't even entered.
There is no limit to how daft people can be. Not sure if that makes them greedy or just gullible.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -
Basically she was just naive and got into something she didn't know about. Slagging her off and having no sympathy is mean-spirited and symptomatic of the times. And if, you know, your history...0

sorry dixie totally disagree with you there.
it's the same as these people who sell ebooks on ebay on how to become rich on ebay, well er hello i wonder how that is!
if it's all so easy to make this money why sell the ebook for £1, wouldn't you keep this revolutionary idea all to yourself so you could make millions?
same as these property "seminars", well if you could make £100k out of this so easily why would i sell you this "sought after information" for only £6k, after all it's so easy to make this money, no money needed but instead of me making £100k, out of the goodness of my heart I'll tell you how you can for only only £6k!
idiots stick to what you know, ie driving round in taxis, just cos i tell people my job is easy (which it is! lol) doesn't mean i expect them to be able to do it after a 3 day course and spending £6k but if people want to pay me that then I'll happily show them the tricks of the trade! lol0 -
So, she was a victim? Sorry but her BTL 'dream' is precisely the reason that many young couples/wannabe families can't achieve their own dream i.e. buying a property to live in.
Who did she think she was going to rent to? Young 'professionals'. Did she ask herself why these young professionals weren't able to buy but she was? Did she even care? No.
Please don't ask me to rend my garments and weep bitter tears because she was taken in by Inside Track and the like. She wanted to believe what they were saying, that it was the fast route to easy money. She didn't care at whose expense such profits were made. No such thing as society, you see.

Errr... she was greedy!
She had the £ signs ringing in her eyes like daffy duck in a bugs bunny cartoon... £100,000 for doing nothing! Weh-hey! Ker-ching!
Meanwhile by snapping up 4 properties at inflated prices in addition to her own house, she deprived how many people of a chance to own just one home of their own?
I have no sympathy for her whatsoever and wish her nothing but pain.Mortgage debt - [STRIKE]£8,811.47 [/STRIKE] Paid off!0 -
Its a sad case. I really think the banks have a lot to answer for here. The poor woman was out of her depth from the beginning. This is the equivalent of walking into a bank with a business idea no business plan and no cash for start up. They would laugh you out the door.
The £6000 course as we all know was a move only the naive would make.
Had she just remortgaged at the time and used the cash to buy a BTL in an established area she would be sitting on a handsome wee investment now.0 -
Today's Observer might give you a clue as to what's happening in the market:

I know this lady might look greedy and naive but I think I would feel sympathy for anyone in her situation no matter what mistakes they'd made.0

I have much sympathy but no bailout I hope.0
