Looking for blackout curtains

Right now I have some velour (?) blackout curtains - I'm not sure if they are thermal or not, but they do seem to help keep a little heat in.
My problem is that under my window I get a little mould, exactly under the window sill. This is also where the curtains nearly touch the floor. Therefore, in my eyes, this is the cause of the mould - cold wall, not enough air at the wall.
I have tried these blackout curtains from Littlewoods (I know, their prices....but I had some codes). These were far too thin for my liking and seemed to let little flecks of light in through the curtains.
What's most important to me is not letting the light let through. The smallest amount of sunlight in summer seems to have me up at silly hours! Second most important is being able to machine wash them in order to keep them fresh. Not often, 2-3 times a year at the very most.
Obviously the cheaper the better, but I am happy to pay a bit more to ensure a good night's sleep!

Have a wee look on eBay. People always selling second hand ones on there. Save a bob or two.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

I had some blackout linings from Dunelm which you just attach to your existing curtains. They worked well but they were dry clean only so make sure you check the washing instructions before buying as you mentioned that you will want to wash them.0

I bought from Blackout liners from B&m a few years ago. Just white - very thick and heavy and you can attach them to your current curtains.
Now if i wake up in the morning i have no idea what time it is as it lets through zero light. Husband likes it that way - but i find it difficult to get out of bed!0
