Saga & renewing Home Insurance

Hi Folks,
Been with Saga for 10 years plus re my Home Insurance. This year's renewal £30 more than last year's, (No claims ever made), they agreed to drop it to 12 pence less than last year's...lol !!
However when checking out a Comparison site, I found a well known Company who offered the same for £14 cheaper and included Home Emergency, plus other small benefits.
Went back to Saga (who said they would match any deal ??), and they said if I upped my excess they could bring it down to match, but would cost me £39.99 extra for Home Emergency.
They didn't really seemed bothered, so it appears loyalty doesn't bother them.
Bye,Bye Saga !!

Have you checked the coverage is the same with both providers?
There is no such thing as customer loyalty. You get the discounts for being a new customer these days.0 -
Yes, everything identical. The new one slightly better, the main thing is the Home Emergency is free with the new one. Saga won't budge, still insist on£39.99.
I think your right, they are interested in New Customers only.
Shame really, and Yes....Loyalty is nothing it appears.0 -
I used to work for an insurer on their panel.
The commissions they take from "loyal"customers is disgusting.
I'd always recommend avoiding them, they claim to care for the customers but they don't care at all.0
