Uneven floor boarding

Options
Hi

Im still in the process of renovating my property. It is about 30 years old and has had an extension at the side.

The problem on the landing is that the floor isnt level where the extension was built. In addition the flooring has been cut up and lifted in so many places for various pipes, electricity etc that there are differences in the level of the flooring in quite a lot of places.

The provious owners tried to get round this by screwing thin wood all over the landing. This is a helped to a degree but isnt great - in additions its as squeaky as hell!!!!

Im due to have new carpets fitted shortly and wonder is there anything i can do to improve this other than having a new floor fitted?
Would filling the gaps suffice? If so is there any particularly product best for this? In the kitchen where it was similar looks like a greyish filling product has been used in the gaps thyat seems particularly strong

ANy ideas appreciated
