Car Insurance Post Office Insurance/ NIG ...problems?

This is it a 50/50 we would maybe learn to accpect there are now stating that they are settling the third party.
Although the claims handler has now stated he would look at the file again.
Can I just point out though that when my husband stated the manouver the taxi was not yet in the street.
It was only once started the manouver that the taxi came down the street and hit him...
Like I say what are the lessons to be learned?0 -
However I have to say I do not believe my husband was at fault here. I think the taxi was not paying attention to what the car in front was doing and in that scieniro how much can the back passenger in his car really see!

Hiya Deborah
It really does not matter whos fault you think it is, it's up to the insurance companies. And also was your husband paying attention to where the car behind him was when he made his manouvre?
Now in what you describe and as others have said 50/50 seems fair.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Iceicebaby..thanks intresting comment. It does not mattter whose falut t is, it is up to insurance companies.
Does this go for everything in life?
If this is the case why even bother asking for people version of events? Surely if I am ever involved in anything like this again that is how I will reply do not ask me no one is at fault. The same if anyone questions this accident that is what I will get my husband to reply. There is no falut only insurance.
I do feel though I have a complaint about the poor adminstration way NIG have handled this claim. Like everyone else we could learn to handle 50/50 what we are having difficulty to accpect is that this was all his fault. I am sure everyone can understand that.
My husband works with an organisation that works with the police. He has no criminal convections, no cautions and never had a car accident before. This is all new to us. But I also know like you first filling get used to it. However having such a clear record that is why he upset about this...so we will still consider taking legal action , I know that most of you think this will only cause upset but I recently one an employment tribunal case (and I know I won) so my experience may be diffrent but glad I went through to let truth prevail.
I honeslty think becuause no one was hurt, damage to our car was £1000 and I persume very little damage to the taxi that the insurers feel not worth taking to court because in realtive terms to the them this claim is nothing. Third party costs probably more than there court costs...so as a result my husband will suffer (remember in an essesne this is what the solicotor did say in my brief call to her) this is not fair...yes it doesn't matter who is at fault but only insurance however when it leaves marks on your insurance record costs you £250 and your integretity is questioned it does impact on you.
Also regarding NIG no mention in insurance booklet and policy all related to Post Office.
It only costs £44 for small claims worth it even if result is the same proves that we did everything in our power to show that he was telling the truth.0 -

Your husband is to blame so its only right he suffers
The insurance companies get a version of events then make a deicison on that as to how to apportion blame
They like everyone here clearly can tell your husband was partly to blame and arent going to waste their money pursuing a case because well you want to
You need to get a grip and face the realism, your husband was to blame , it is going to cause a loss and you moaning because you dont like procedures is going to do nothing
Accept it and stop wasting everyones time0
