Parking Fine Help
Hi,
I'm looking for a bit of advice..
My parents received a parking fine last summer from a private firm which went to Court and now they are receiving letters threatening debt collectors, from what I can gather they've ignored it up until this point.
Am I right in assuming that because they've ignored it up until this point they haven't got much option but to pay?.
Thank you to anyone that may be able to help.

They only need pay up if they have court papers saying that there was a claim against them which has been upheld. Make sure there really was a court case and it isn't just parking company scare tactics.
The advice now though is not to ignore parking tickets; there is a procedure to follow which means you still shouldn't have to pay anything but you do need to follow the rules.0 -
Is this a private or council ticket? Advice differs considerably for each.
If private, get yourself into the Parking Tickets Subforum and start by reading the stickies carefully. That will bring you up to date on your remaining options.
If its a legit/council ticket, get yourself over to Pepipoo to see what can be done. Again, read the intro threads there and be ready to post all the info they ask for (after removing personal details).0 -

Ask a helper to move this to the correct part of the forum.0
