What do you automate? How often do you check everything?

  • I have made my utilities, council tax, water, tv etc all Direct Debit payments.
I check my bank account daily, even when I know monies won't have changed, just a habit I guess.
I am currently setting up Savings accounts and will set up automated payments to these, one already is an 'Emergency' account.
I don't have any debts now, so no payments due out o cc's or loans etc.
I pay for my groceries either online, or by my debit card in store, but I have a rough weekly budget and buy the same sort of stuff each week, so no surprises there.
If I was to be in a position where I couldn't facilitate my bank, and didn't need to do the weekly shopping, then my account would be able to take over for me, everything would be paid and it would probably rise in funds!
I like to keep things simple. :-)
