DD and friend want a week away in August for under £500 each.
AI, twin room with sun, pool not too far from a beach.
They found a few but the price goes above their budget when they try to book.
Best place to go and where not to go ideas please.

Nobody can give any specifics without a date or airport but I would suggest that for that price they look at turkey.
If they want all inclusive then I imagine spain, Greece and Portugal will be out of their price range in august as they are extremely popular again this year and as such prices have risen.
She may find a reasonable deal to Costa brava or Costa dorada by finding a cheap flight to Barcelona but may not be able to get top quality accommodation.
Turkey is cheap at the moment as it's not selling well. Personally I wouldn't go there at the moment and I lived there for a number of years and love the place but I just don't feel it's the safest place at the moment. Many will disagree though so if the price is right they may be happy to go. Egypt, Tunisia or Morocco would be another place where there money would go further too.Lea

Thanks, yes that is where they have been searching, but some are not allowed, Turkey for example, to as friend is in the forces.0

You can't holiday in Turkey if you're in the Armed Forces?0 -
Have a look at the ones they have found already but booking the flights and accommodation separately, google is your friend.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

The best price in August is almost always the very last week where you go into September so starting c26 August.
Personally I wouldn't touch anywhere with a high terrorism risk but that's personal choice.
I looked on Thomson with flights from any London and there are hotels with pools by the beach in Costa Brava within budget all inclusive and you can also add on excursions to Barcelona and the waterpark etc.
I've always found Thomson / First Choice very reliable and think they are still loss making so generally can't beat on price by DIY.
Isnt going to be a whole lot of choice in August with AI requirements but looks like a nice holiday is possible.0 -

Can see where you are coming from and statistically chances of being in a terrorist incident are very low. I work in London but our partner firm was in the World Trade Centre on the day it went down. The guy who sat next to me moved from the WTC to us in June and had several friends who died at around 26.0 -
Well her friend is in the Army and has a list of places she is not allowed to go to including Turkey.0
