PN, care to tell how you use to make pizza base, is it just simple as slice lengthways, top & bake?

Or bake first, then top, sort of cheese on toast in the oven style?
    Slice lengthways... add toppings, bake.

No point toasting it first, that runs the risk of it getting dried out and/or too brown/black.

    It's part-bake and requires 10-12 minutes.
    Toppings require 10-12 minutes.
It makes sense, therefore, to kill two birds with one 10-12 minutes stone :)

I never made a lasagne. A combination of events, I CBA at all, no motivation + local/neighbourhood events made me too jittery to concentrate... so I went and shuffled round A1d1, then Poundland.

    :)

Tea was therefore: two packets of cheese/onion crisps and 5 chocolates.

    Normal service is resumed.

While out I bought some bizarre/random items .... there was a pack of 6 burger buns at 30% off and I'd got it in my head to cook beefburgers (on my "why don't you cook that" list) .... so I grabbed them. But then I couldn't find burgers that I felt comfortable buying (big packs, raw meat, bit pricey), but in the freezer I found a box of 4. So I now own 4 frozen burgers...and some burger buns. You can expect the two to meet in the coming days.

I also grabbed eggs under the heading of "why not, might as well" - and a double pack of bed pillows (two for £3.49, who wouldn't!)

Their fruit seems expensive, but it's worth it for the higher quality - they're not as tasteless as most supermarkets, and they do really nice fruit salads.
There "Pink Lady" apples are so lovely.....:D

Decent pillows are a must have IMHO and eggs never go wrong, not keen on pre-made burgers though they always seem to shrink so much :D

Well, I've not really anything to compare them with, having not bought any frozen burgers, probably ever before! I'll see what happens. The box says "100% beef" but that could mean "100% really fatty beef" or I could hit lucky.

They had lamb burgers in the same trough - but I noticed the box didn't say "100% lamb", so, because I'm nosey/intrigued, I opened the freezer lid and flipped a box over to read, I think it said 46% lamb and 45% mutton .... I didn't really take much notice, I was just interested to look/see if they mentioned it.

The third choice (3 choices is luxury in A1d1) ... were some jalapeno beef burgers. But they were 10p/box more and I had no specific reason to try those, so just got the bog standard beef burgers.

We'll soon know if I like them .... or never, ever buy beef burgers again as long as I live :)

Today's been mixed. PN inspired me and I had cheese on toast for lunch, then a yoghurt with honey for a snack. Tea was a tin of chicken in white sauce followed by dates and cashew butter. They were ok but I think they'd be better with more of the butter, I'll gradually increase it until I get to the right ratio.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Hopefully not end up tiny and in a puddle grease. ;) I really like mutton but you seldom see it round here - makes a great curry :)

LOL I read that as "at tin of chicken in white sauce with dates and cashew butter which I can't say appealed:o

The Pukka Pie hit the spot so that will satisy my pie cravings for a bit:) They'll not be much CFO today as I'm visiting friends this afternoon. It was originally going to be for a late lunch but we are now not eating until 4ish so I'm going to make a mushroom omelette as a brunch shortly to keep me going until then. Doubt I'll need anything this evening.
Still pondering whether to take a beef joint out of the freezer for tomorrow, not had a roast for ages and I have some frozen yorkshire puddings I could have with it:)

PN the 1/4 100% beef pound burgers I bought from Iceland a few weeks ago didn't shrink at all...and were actually really tasty.

I know a lot of people who think the quality of the meat in Iceland (the shop..no idea about the country!) is good.

    Hope yours turn out ok.

Last night I had Goats Cheese and Spinach Pizza with added onion, mushrooms and asparagus..oh and a couple of baby tomatoes.

Managed to leave a third untouched so it has gone in the freezer...i didn't want to end up having it for breakfast then going on a food bender for the rest of the day like I did last Sunday :o

Just posted this in the What's for dinner' thread...dunno if any of you lovely lot had any thoughts?

Quick question: Does anyone here make smoothies? AMES :D

I've finally invested in a smoothie maker to aid my weight loss, increase my fruit and veg count and return to healthier eating.

I was wondering if they keep well in the fridge and for how long. Also i was wondering if they lose some of their nutrient value whilst being stored? Anyone know?

Oops sorry that was rather more of an in depth, long question really wasn't it

I've not shopped at Iceland. I never used to live near one - then I was lodging near one for a short while but didn't have the freezer required. Now I do have a freezer (had it 2 years or so now) and the nearest shop's about a 10 mile return trip and they don't have a car park, so it seems a pain in the butt to go there, just to see what they've got - added to the fact my freezer's not actually that big so I'd only be able to get 3-4 things at most.

I'd happily shop there if it were closer/had parking.

As it's freezer goods, you really have to go in with the intention of coming straight home - it's not something you can randomly stumble across on a wandering day around "to see what's where" in other towns and then shove in the boot of the car for 5-6 hours :)

I'm having a really bad day.... it's based around wishing to do some VERY simple DIY (buy a bigger screw to replace the screw that's loose on the gate, because a bigger one would "fix" it) .... and the whole plan's falling apart and I've been to the shop 3x and ended up buying glue, that then became the problem.... and now I think I've got that sorted I've other issues as one other item I bought needs a hole to be drilled and I have no drill.... I've also mislaid my small/cheap electric screwdriver, so turned the house upside down 3x looking for it. It's nowhere.

Not eaten - don't feel like food - but those burger buns are sitting out, so I might just give a quick burger a fly around the nuker, then finish under the grill, in the next hour or so. I'd like an onion ring on that, but the onions I've got I sliced, I didn't cut them as rings.... I've got cheddar... so it could be a cheeseburger in a toasted burger bun.

I was in Home Bargains earlier, looking for a flexi tub for hand washing, which I ended up buying at Homebase - I was there thinking "wish I could remember what I like to buy in here" - and left with a sole packet of biscuits.... and now I'm back home I've remembered they had some 25p pot noodles...d4mn them. Why didn't I remember that while I was there (it's a 5 mile round trip to go back).

Not me. Never had a smoothie, no desire to have one - I wouldn't relish the texture ....

I'm simply not of the "smoothie making/drinking/creating" class :)

My class wanders closer to "half a bowl of cold gruel and a hard crust of yesterday's cheap bread"

    :)
