Refund Missing - Credit Card Not helping.

Hi Folks,

I bought tickets on a credit card in August. In october i paid off and cancelled the credit cards. I had to cancel the tickets and the ticketing company have issued a refund, I explained to the ticketing company that I cancelled the card and they said, they should be able to refund it, they would provide me with an Acquirers reference Number which should allow the credit card company to track any refunds.

I called Aqua (credit cards) and they said that a note had been left asking for my sort code and account number to refund me, I gave them this...
3 days No refund
5 days No refund
7 days ... you get the picture.

The first person I spoke to said they would "raise a "work job" :think:
and that someone would call me back.

The second person couldn't make sense of what the first person said

The third person at aqua said two and one were wrong and that the ticket issuer would need to write a letter to aqua because " we dont just hand out money willy-nilly" (seriously).

All the while the ticket company are like "We dont know why they are being difficult". Please help :( x

    Has the refund been made to Aqua already?
    I don't really get the bit about the merchant providing you with an 'Acquirers reference number'. Provision of such a number to merchants is not part of the normal refund process.
    If Aqua are claiming no refund received:
    Ask the merchant to provide YOU with proof of refund. Ideally this will be printed receipt from the terminal. Forward a copy of this receipt to Aqua. It would be normal practice for them to accept this as proof that a refund has been made. Then ask them to refund the credit balance on the closed account.
    If Aqua have received the refund but wont refund you, simply advise them that a credit balance exists on the account and that they must refund it.
    It is a shame that you were so quick to close the account. If you had left the account open card unused for a while then you would not be having this problem now.
  • ..............Or they did receive it but returned it as account closed then OP is back to square one.
