First time buyer after some advice. We've found a property we like through Gleesons. Spoke to the agent but because the phase hasn't been released yet she can't name the price. She said the house is available through their Save and Build scheme. For us to get onto the scheme she asked us to go through Meridian to ensure we are eligible for a mortgage before proceeding.
I plan on phoning them tomorrow but wouldn't they be asking what value of mortgage I'd be looking for? Never applied for a mortgage so unsure if they would tell me to go back to Gleesons for a price or not.
Also, Gleesons have said to use Meridian, which I assume because they get some sort of commission. A friend advised me to use London & Country as they said they were really good. Should I use both or stick to the sole one that Gleesons have said to use? Thank you for any help provided.

You don't have to use a broker at all, especially if your purchase is straightforward.0
-
Ignore the developer.
Find your own independant mortgage broker.
Find your on solicitor.
Use your on surveyor.
Do not be influenced by a developer saying it's 'easier', 'quicker', 'cheaper' 'xxxxer' to use their recommended profesional.
You want professionals who work soley for you, who have your best interests at heart, and have no connection with the developer.0
