Sorry have a few threads on ex tenancy. and its Scoland.
Moved out on the 31st Dcember, phoned up last week to say they (the agency are the landlords since they own the properties they rent) hadn't had a chance to pick up the keys from property yet so couldn't confirm if everything was ok.
Phoned Monday and after a few attempts got through to the person dealing with my account, said they had keys back but hadn't checked records to see IF they owed me any money (no deposit I should be clear just overpaid rent) and they would issue a cheque, when I queried when it would be sent I was told "should be by the end of the week"
I phone today, less to see if the cheque is sent but to see if they have checked the records for amount they owe me and have been told the person dealing with my account is off on holiday! And even so the person who signs cheques (why can't it be someone else) is too busy to sign cheques. and they couldn't tell me how much/if any money was due back as its not dealt with by them even though I know from multiple past experiences they have access to the account and could just tell me and me being told on Monday that the person who deals with the money side of accounts is different than the one who deals with actual rental side of accounts (so why couldn't they tell me)
Am I being messed around? I know by law they have so much time to issue but they seem to be treating the issue in a strange way.
To be clear, no deposit paid, unfurinished flat which I emptied and cleaned for 12 hours anyway and took photos, I am due back at least 1 months money due to notice period being different than amount charged i.e 2 months rent in advance, but 1 months notice to end tenancy.
So are they messing me about telling me that certain staff are on holiday, it took them a week to get keys back as they were too busy to collect them and they haven't issued a cheque yet as the person who signs cheques is too busy to do it.
