28 day exchange on a new build

Hi

We are first time buyers and have agreed a sale of a 1930s property with a couple buying a new build. One of the conditions of the new build is that they exchange within or around 28 days. Does anyone know if that is 28 working days or 28 full days? No one involved in the process seems to be able to give me a definitive answer.

    28 days. 4 weeks.
  • Thanks! And from what point do those 28 days become active?

Basically due to solicitors and Christmas (which is apparently a valid reason) the solicitors from both sides are not going to meet the deadline and I am a little concerned that the builders might pull out of the sale for our sellers.

Very unlikely. As long as clear progress is being made, the builders are generally happy.
