8 year old magnet kitchen repair/revamp

Got a discontinued wood kitchen, it would be a shame to pull it out as it is mostly in great condition and alot of upheaval.

It could do with a new worktop, which is fine, not a problem. The issue I have is a damaged unfixable cupboard door, it has a huge crack in it and the inner bits are showing.

I cannot get the exact door from magnet. I have been in person to 1 door replacement shop with a draw front and could not get an exact match colour/design wise, I can keep looking but does anyone know a good way to revamp.

My ideas are to get a similar style door fitted and then repaint the whole lot? Can door be painted in situ, or does it all need taking off, inc the side panels and everything to repaint?

any other ideas!?

Can you make the cabinet in question an open one? (such as storage baskets, wine rack etc)
You could then potentially paint the inside of the cabinet a complimentary colour if the current one doesn't suit.

If it's a large cabinet that may not work, though...

Or change several of the doors / fronts to the same 'new' design so that it contrasts.

Or think "outside the box" (bleugh). Get a cheap door (or repair current one), paint with blackboard paint (or cut out whiteboard sheeting), cover with a few photos and lists, and make use of it as your memory fails.

Now, must dash out to get some... um.. um....

That is a fab idea! :T Might use it myself...

Have you tried ebay for a door to match? I got one for my ancient kitchen, ex - MFI.
