in Credit cards
Hi,
I need some help!! I have never had a credit card and I have applied twice and been rejected by my own bank! I have no debt only my student loan that comes straight out of my wage, I am a professional so on a decent wage and my bank sees that each month, I only have a £500 over draft which I never use and I have checked my credit raising on credit experts free site and iv only got a score of 609 which is classed as poor. How do I increase my score? I'm on the electoral role and have all my bills coming out of my account and never missed?? I need help!!
Thank you in advance.

Try one of the sub prime lenders.
Check your credit files to ensure everything is correct, but always ignore the scores as they mean so little.0 -
The scores mean sod all, best to apply for sub prime cards then move up.0

It looks like your suffering from the fact that you have very little credit, and hence very little evidence that you can manage credit effectively. It's a bit of a catch 22.
Do you use your overdraft much? Do you have a mobile phone contract?
Usually a good place to start a credit card is with your own bank, but clearly that's not happening. What is showing on your credit file in the 'negative' column?
Do you have any history of late payments, defaults, CCJ's etc at any time in the last 6 years?0
