What are you trying to achieve & what kind of control do you want ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Being able to switch radiators off at a click of a button to save on heating cost
For instance when not downstairs, i could program it to switch off or keep it to 5 degree or something using the wireless controller
The controller costs £190 plus £190 for 4 trv or around £400 for 8 trv
So i am looking at £600 cost for 8 radiators
I wonder how long it will take for it to pay back for itself0 -
A heating system is worked out for heat loss in certain rooms this will then give you a rad output needed to maintain the room at its set temp, two of the things taken into account is an outside temp of -1 & heating on 24hrs per day, it is also assumed that all rooms are heated, the problem you may find if I take your example, you are upstairs & you turn off the heating downstairs the upstairs rooms may not reach their design temp as the heat from below won't be helping the heat upstairs, so you may find that for you £600 outlay you aren't saving anything at all & your gas bill may even go up,
Better insulation, TRV's on all the rads apart from the one with the room stat, weather compensation wired into the boiler (although your choice of boiler lags way behind far more efficient boilers in that respect & may not allow for weather compensation at all), I'd look at other makes if efficiency is important to youI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

I presume you mean Honeywell Evohome, which is something I'm seriously looking at too. It has a controller as a part of the system.0
