Ignoring an NCP parking fine

will987
Received a parking fine of £100 (£50 if i pay it within 14 days) from NCP a week ago, The ticket machine wasn't working and they still gave me a parking ticket. Sent an appeal in which they still haven't replied to and guessing it will be rejected.
Is it safe to ignore this charge and all the threats they will send me in the post in the hope that it will be canceled eventually??
thanks

they have 6 years in england and wales to try a court case, so you are better to follow the advice given in the NEWBIES sticky thread (which is why its there)
a judge MAY take a dim view of ignoring correspondence for 6 years, plus you would not want a default judgment hanging over you if you move in the next 6 years and they get a CCJ against you at your old address (a common problem)0 -
You have called this a fine, this shows that:
A: you do not understand what you have
B: you do not understand why its a bad idea to ignore
Advice: please read the sticky thread
what exactly do you have, and how much time has passed since the incident, and receiving the letter? From the Plain Language Commission:
"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"0 -
Apologies for the wrong terminology, it's called a parking charge notice. Haven't received any letters, just had it stuck to my windscreen on the 03/01/17
appreciate the advice0 -
in that case follow the advice regarding windscreen tickets in that newbies sticky thread, appealing around day 25 with the correct template
and read up about "frustration of contract" too (as regards faulty machines)
as for the word "fine" , its like catchphrase --- "say what you see" , and you see "parking charge notice" - lol0 -

Read the NEWBIES thread and we will see you again here at POPLA stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm waiting on an appeal which takes 14 days but also the fine (call it what you will) increases after 14 days.
My 'crime' was to book an extension over the phone but included a v for a p in the first part of my car's registration plate (similar to another car we have).
Had I bought the ticket on site I would only have had to display the final three letters (which were correct on my renewal).
I would ask this question elsewhere but I have found it impossible to find any link on the site that allows me to do so.0 -
