Roof insulation - HELP!!

Hi all - hoping someone could help me, we are having no luck finding out from anywhere!

I have recently had a professional roofer change my glass conservatory roof to a light weight tiled roof.

He removed the glass and replaced each panel with 30mm celotex, covered the outside surface with chip board and tiled over the top with light weight tiles.

Now it has come to the interior....

The building inspector has told me the insulation value must be 0.18. Does anyone know the most cost effective way of gaining that amount of insulation? I understand that because the roofer fitted a breathable membrane I will not need an air gap above the new insulation.

Also, what screws should I use to fit the batons to the aluminium roof frame.

Hope someone can help and thanks in advance!

30mm Celotex alone won't come anywhere near 0.18 u value.

Assuming you plan to have an internal ceiling face of 12.5mm plasterboard with your 30mm Celotex you would need to add at least another 100mm of Celotex to achieve 0.18

Although it doesn't list conservatory roof conversions this may help to give you an idea of the sort of U values that can be achieved with traditional pitched and flat roofs.

Is your conservatory sealed off from the house by patio/French doors? If so, then it shouldn't fall under building regs unless you are converting it into an extension?
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!
