Hi, I've got my vehicle on a pcp plan with Toyota. I need front brake pads, drums and calipers. Toyota at one dealership has quoted me 240, this seems alot. I know for servicing different dealerships charge different amounts I'd guess the same is true for parts, labour etc so does anyone know if it's worth asking around other Toyota garages or go private? I'm certain that would be cheaper but it's the pcp that worries me, I'm likely to hand the vehicle back but I'd stay with Toyota, it's a lovely car. Anyone with any experience with Toyota pcp and handing vehicle back?

Toyota lists the fixed costs for repairs on their website: https://www.toyota.co.uk/caring-for-your-toyota/service-and-maintenance/repairs.json for an AYGO the listed price is £220 for front discs and pads. Are you sure you really mean "I need front brake pads, drums and callipers"?

I have had cars on PCP from Toyota and although I haven't handed them back I have traded then in for a new Toyota. I can't see that non-Toyota fitted discs or pads would be an issue at all with a PCP.

Forgetting about the FRONT drums(????) - do you really need callipers on a 2014 car? Pads, fair enough and maybe even discs but callipers? The only time I've ever had to change them was on an old kit car and even then it was only the piston seals that needed doing, not the whole caliper.
  • The description of what is required is what Toyota have told me I need, they said drums and calipers. Maybe a second opinion is required.
