Yes Hoploz sorry for not explaining it well everyone, that's right! There are rolls of insulation in their packaging sat up there, and there's nothing in-between the rafters above the ceiling. I know its a loft space but its the ceiling directly over rooms. Definitely is losing heat because when it snowed my neighbours all had snow on theirs and mine had melted off haha!

I notified the builder 6 weeks ago - forwarded the snagging report from my surveyor and highlighted that the insulation was the most urgent issue as we are in winter. As this was December, before the winter holidays, and there is no one on the site anymore, I expected there could be a bit of a delay but I have been chasing for two weeks now and still nothing!

hjscores I hadn't thought about voiding the defect warranty!!! Definitely don't want to do that.

I will give the builders a call tomorrow and if I get nowhere again I will ring building control

Thanks again for the advice everyone.

When you call them - don't call them rafters. They're ceiling joists. Perhaps that's why they didn't respond last time. The rafters are the sloping beams of the roof. Usually, no insulation is place between the rafters (unless the loft is converted).
