Ex wants profit from house

Please could anyone give me any advice?
My ex-wife moved out of the marital home approximately 7 years ago when we separated and she didn’t want anything to do with the property as it was in negative equity by approximately £15,000, we attended mediation (unfortunately we didn’t get a consent order) and agreed that she had no interest in the property or our related marital debts. To which I agreed to pay £3000 credit card of My Ex-wife’s and our £3000 overdraft (£1500 being 50% My Ex was due to pay) so in total she had £4500 and walked away from a £15000 debt (half which she would have been liable to pay £7500). So we always agreed that this was to be the case (Until the house was due to complete). My Ex-wife now wants £7000 from the sale of the property.
This is what I have paid out in the last 7 years into the house:
Mortgage actually paid off (Not including interest paid) £13620.00
Refurb of house (approx.) £5000.00
Cost to purchase freehold inc fees £5073.00
Agents fees for the house sale £2137.80
Payment overdraft (in joint names) £3000.00
Payment of my Ex-wife’s credit card (in her name) £3000.00
Total paid out by myself £31830.80 Total paid out by my Ex-wife £0.00
50% of payments made (is my ex held responsible for these too) £15915.40
50% split of remaining proceeds of £19,458.97 (due to ex) £9729.48
£9729.48 – £15915.40 = £-6185.91 due from my ex?
I am prepared to give her an ex gratia payment of £2000 cash, I think this is a generous offer due to the amount of involvement she has had in the property.
It all makes me so sad as if I had not spend 18 months renovating the property and buying the freehold the house would not have made enough to cover the mortgage owed.
Could anyone advise me where I stand with this?
Just to add we are divorced but a clean break order was never done as we were amicable and she was always adamant (up until the sale going through) she wanted nothing. We have an 8 year old child too, so I did offer to put £2000 in her bank I hold and give my ex £4000 to apparently put in my daughters bank held by her mother, but last night she said she wants £7000 no offers ??

Why are you even giving her £2000? You've done too much in clearing her debts imo!
You say ex wife so I'm presuming you're divorced and all that has been settled?0 -
Why on earth are you letting her walk all over you? I'm not sure how this stands in a legal point of view because I'm not a solicitor, but if she legally has no interest in the property and you have serviced her debts and your negative equity mortgage, why would you pay her another penny? Is the property in your sole name now I'm presuming?I am a Mortgage Broker.

It's not clear from the OP if your still married (ie separated) or if divorced or if the property is in joint names?0

Hi, Thank you so much for your replies, we are divorced and have an 8 year old child. Unfortunately when we divorced as it was all amicable we didn't get a clean break order (I know now this was very silly of me). I have always paid child maintenance, also.0

Tell her to take a running jump.0

I'd love to but at the minute the profit from the house is being held by the solicitors until we come to an agreement and I desperately need the money for the deposit on a new house

Are you reliant on her signing anything to proceed with the sale?0

No, the sale has gone through and the profit is being held by solicitors at the moment.
We did both have to sign for the sale to proceed but they won't release any money to me until she agrees.0 -
I would agree with the others do not offer her a penny, then speak to a solicitor about booking a day in court and helping with your defence.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
