Help! Emails not deleting on Android Phone

I've got a Motorola Android phone (3G) and suddenly, yesterday, when I tried to delete emails on it, they just appear back in my inbox which is now really filling up. My email account is BT but it's working fine on my laptop (i.e. no problems deleting).

Anyone had this problem or any idea how to fix it?
Thanks

If you delete them in your webmail account do they disappear from your phone? It's probably an issue with your POP/IMAP settings, so you may need to find them and tell us what they are.

I had a similar problem with my iPhone 6. I had deleted e mails on my PC but several old e mails would not "delete" from the phone.

I tried moving each one to the "Trash" folder, but when I return to Junk Mail folder they are back.

  • As I'm the OP, just wanted to do an update on this. I started having problems with emails on my laptop too, so went to the BT/Yahoo site and changed my password (and then changed it on my mobile and laptop) and it's worked fine since.

Not sure why this happened; maybe another problem with Yahoo that they're not telling us about?

Anyway, a happy ending (for now).
    Cheers
