Good Morning all and clear but overcast here in north Kent I am hoping it will stay like that today, although heavy rain is forecast I am off to the airport around 5.30 to pick up DGS Ben and his G/F Candice as they are returning from their short trip to Berlin tonight Fingers crossed it won't lie around if it does snow as the M25 motorway isn't a nice place to be at the best of times .

Just pottering this morning then round to DDs at lunchtime to let the dogs out .The new little Westie seems to be settling in OK and the older dog Lexi will put up with him, but she mainly isn't that interested at the moment.

I think her nose is a bit out of joint as the little chap seems to be getting the attention,so I make a point of making a fuss of her so she will feel a bit better. (and I'm not a great animal lover either :):):))

DGS Mikey texted me at 8 00 this morning to ask if I would bring my needle and thread round as he wants his trouser turned up a little :):):)He is getting to the age where he is keen to look his best. I think the girls school next to his has a lot to do with it :):):)

Lainey I hope your Mum had a peaceful night and you managed to get some sleep as well,my thoughts are with you

Right time for some coffee to kickstart my inner engine I think
    Have a good day chums

    Good morning everyone :hello:

No snow here yet, it's unlikely to stick even if we get a few flakes later. It is blooming cold though. I didn't want to get out of my lovely warm bed this morning but I am up, showered and dressed ready for the day ahead.

I have to make some phone calls this morning which makes me feel a bit nervous. It's only to book appointments etc but it makes my tummy go wobbly :o. Hubby left me a lovely message on my pinboard this morning as he had left for work before I got up. I'm sorry to read about peoples sulky OH's, it must be very wearing to put up with that kind of nonsense.

My friend came to see me yesterday for 7 hours! It was very stressful as she is manic at the moment. I had seven hours of her reading her dreadful poetry to me, bouncing off the walls and crying. I am being very nice to myself today because of it. Hubby was quite cross when he heard about my day but I think I can cope with her as long as I take care of me too.

I am cooking macaroni and cheese tonight for tea. I made chicken korma from scratch yesterday which was lovely but it took so long to make.

My good thing today is I've lost another 4lb this week. I am so so pleased as I had a few dodgy times when I thought I would give up and stay fat forever. I am worth getting healthy for though both physically and mentally for myself and my family.

Lainey, I am thinking of you and your mum and sending you both gentle hugs over the ether xxxx

Well done on the weight loss dumpling.

We are back from the Heathrow run with DD and husband. I'm quite tired now because we were up at 4.00 and I never sleep well when I have a deadline.

I don't have a stand out happy event for yesterday, but the anticipation of having DD home made me very happy.

    Morning all,

Well done on the weight loss Dumpling. Slowly but surely is the way to go (with the occasional cheat).

Prodigal Son came last night for tea. I'd got my Grandson and it was the first time he had seen him. My daughter came to collect my Grandson but it was a quick in and out for her as she didnt want to see him. Distressed and disgusted at the mess he's got himself into.

Every fibre of my being wants to help and protect him but he's so dirty and unkept he makes me feel ill at the same time. Its no good getting him to have a bath as he's got no other clothes, its no good buying him clothes (we've done that before, he just loses them). Maybe now he's sorted his flat out he will be able to put down roots. I dearly hope so. We have tried so many times to help him and he still goes his own sweet way.

If its not the dogs waking me up in the night its hubby, the only time i get some sleep is when hubby goes to work. I have a window between 5.30 and 9.30 where i can sleep. The dogs wake me at 9.30 on the dot for breakfast.

Lainey T thinking of you and your dear Mother. Sending much love.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

  • Morning Morning,
What a wet and miserable day! Roll on home time and snuggling down. I'm sure DD will want to watch another Harry Potter film this evening.

Just popped £60 in my emergency savings- Quite happy with that as January is usually a month of spending (Christmas bills) not saving.
Will knuckle down and get that account looking healthy once again, ready for our new home. It's good to have finances to fall back on in tough times.
2017 is my year for saving as much as possible!

Jacket potatoes with broccoli and left over cold meats for tea this evening.
Got another load of washing to be done and will stick it next to the heater, hopefully it will dry off quicker so not to have soaking washing hanging around. Still have presents from christmas to find homes for, I think a good sort through is required this weekend seeing as DD is with her dad. That'll keep me out of mischief and from spending money!

Hugs to the worried and the poorly.
Have lovely days all and stay safe xx
    Emergency Savings #73 = £1,500/£2,000
    Savings Pot £1,440.00

Made it back home, but no snow yet! When I was driving home the sky was a watery blue with the sun behind it, no warmth though. Now it's started to hail and the sky is grey.

This morning I set the woodburner before I left and banked it up, happily it was still glowing when I got back and it's now blazing again and the room is cosy.

Think it's me and Val McDermid now for a couple of hours. And a cup of tea of course.
  • Afternoon, ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) if you need one.

Got up better this morning, I re jigged the sewing room and we can get a day bed in, I spent the morning emptying a set of shelves, idiot, I have to move them, so I will have to take everything off to move it, The sewing room looks like a junk shop. I have also put the cheap curtains up in the bathroom, I just need to put the ends of the tape onto the hooks, need the big step, cannot see properly using the small steps.

Fritatta and salad for supper tonight.......

No snow here as yet, we were forecast to get it last night.

    Back here to report:

RESULT! My bedroom, now being cleaned to an inch of its life by my lovely cleaner, has been thoroughly decluttered. I have bags and bags of clothes and bits and pieces to give away, everything is stored up in one of the spare rooms, but tackling the bedroom was a major task, took us almost all day and I chose to finish that instead of going to the knitting group, I can always knit another day.

Dumpling well done on the weight loss, but *arghhhh* at your manic friend's 7 hour visit, can you not put some boundaries up, it is the sort of thing that can really drain energy. I have been at the receiving end of a similar situation and I know how much you want to help someone but you have a duty of care to yourself too. You are a very kind friend!

Judi sorry to hear about difficulties with your DS, it must be heartbreaking to see a loved child not thriving.

JackieO good luck with your journey to the airport.

Well, nothing left for me to do after my hard day decluttering, glad I cooked dinner this morning because I am wiped out. Just back from the shops (also took a batch of dry cleaning that was long overdue to clean) and got a few groceries, but other than that all I want to do is put my feet up. Cannot do much while my cleaner is here, as I asked her especially today to do all the dusting, so I will indulge in a bit more internet surfing.

    Have a good evening.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
