Lost Money on property abroad

Hi,
Im not even sure if this is the right forum for this topic, but I am looking for anyone who can help with people who lost money buying abroad off plan.
It's a long story so i will try and summarise here. We tried to buy a property off plan in Cape Verde almost 10 years ago. The market crashed and although the property we bought was built the rest of the complex wasn't.
The developers than advised us that the complex wouldn't be completed and we had lost our investment. However we could transfer this investment to a complex in Bulgaria. I have since been told by friends that they have seen people claiming money back for people who have lost property overseas, I have seen some too, but only in Spain.
Has anyone got any further information on this?
Thanks

Do you visit the place in Bulgaria?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

How much did you pay?
Was any of it paid for by credit card?
Research Section 75 CCA. And also Statute of Limitations.0 -
Beware Cape Verde is the new property scam hotspot,,Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Thanks for your responses. We didn't visit the place in Bulgaria it was just changed over. Our initial deposit was on credit card but we are out of the 6 year period so it's too late to go down that route to get some money back, I wish It wasn't .
I've learnt about cape verde now. We had just accepted that we lost out, but now with what some people have told us I just wanted to know if anyone knew more because i can't find out anything online0 -
I would doubt very much you can get anything back now. I knew people who lost hundreds of thousands in Turkey and they have tried everything.travelover0
