Our little cat has just had dental work to get rid of plaque and have a tooth removed. She is recovering well:j
The accompanying notes say we should clean her teeth three times a week:eek: I have had cats for 50 years and never cleaned the teeth of any of them. Has anyone done this? How do you clean a cats teeth?

I have never heard of anything so absurd! lol
Cats don't need their teeth cleaning if they have a good diet with some raw bones now and then.0 -
Think you'd have to sedate them first and pour a brandy for youself for afterwards!0

They used to sell a brush that was like rubber thimble with little rubber "spikes" on it that you put on the end of your finger and used to clean their teeth. That was years ago, so there might be better methods now, but good luck if you try it!!!!What goes around comes around.....I hope!0

Good plan;). Given that plaque takes a long time to build up in cats teeth and her age (13) I don't think I will worry.0 -
We have an elderly rescue cat with bad teeth and the Vet recommended feeding her finely chopped sinewy meat to cut down the plaque and not damage the gums further- the connective tissue from shin of beef, or the tendons when you trim chicken thighs. A mouse -sized portion, 3 or 4 times a week.0
