Hello -
I am pleased to have successfully opened a new Halifax Reward Account and completed details to switch from an old current account with no direct debits in it. I understand that to be eligible for the £3 monthly Reward I have to pay in £750 and have two direct debits.
If I don't manage to set up two direct debits by the switching date will this prevent or delay Halifax from allowing me the £100 switching bonus? I tried to find the answer on their web site but it seemed to mainly mention the requirement for the monthly Reward. I saw something about a 'Web Chat' but I could not find the link to ask.
I hope to set up two direct bedits eventually but wonder if I need to make them a priority to qualify for the £100 switching bonus without it being delayed. I have been given a switching date of 20 January.
I apologise if the information is there but I could not see it.
Thank you.

...click '£100 switching offer terms and conditions' and you'll see...Halifax wrote:Use the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to transfer all the active credits and debits from the bank account that you hold with another bank and close this account.0 -

Thanks very much, YorkshireBoy. It looks as if the money I have in the 'old' current account for switching will transfer when the account is closed.
As there are no direct debits to transfer I may receive the £100 switching bonus - and I can arrange the two direct debits for the new Halifax Account with the £750 per month deposit at a later date. This is what I was hoping for - a bit of time to think about suitable direct debits and, hopefully, in the meantime, still benefit from the very welcome £100..
Thank you again.

People on here have reported receiving the Halifax incentive after simply switching an account with £1 in it, and no outgoing payments whatsoever!0 -

That's really good to know, YorkshireBoy, and thank you very much for the quick and really helpful replies.

It is nice to see some humour - reminds me of doing a online application for a current account which I already have, when they compel you to view their "terms and conditions" via a link to another web page and I "skim read it" for all of one second, close the page and then move on.0

Apologies, it was a sarcastic response to Yorkshire boy, he would generally scrutinise the banks terms and conditions in great detail, having made a few thousand from switching incentives over the last few years.0 -

Thanks bigadaj- I'm never quick on the uptake. I'm just delighted at the prospect of receiving £100 for switching.
